Create possibility and go for your dreams

Do you have something special to go for?

When you have something special to go for, life becomes an exciting adventure. It also adds a tremendous amount of joy to life. It gives you direction and purpose, a reason to wake up in the morning. You feel better about yourself and better about life.

When you have nothing to go for, life becomes empty and meaningless. Instead of becoming a source of joy, life becomes something to endure, and a life to be endured is not much fun. It leads to depression and all sorts of suffering. If you want to create a great life, find something to go for that is important to you.

Some examples from my life

One day I went for a walk and had a great idea. I decided to create the Mastery Course. This course would change people’s lives. I was thrilled with the possibility. It took a long time to finish, but the anticipation of what was possible made life exciting.

Here’s another example. Years ago I wanted to have a dream car, but I didn’t know what it would be. So I went on a quest to find it. I went to all the car dealers and car shows, but never found it. Whenever I saw a car on the freeway that had possibility, I chased after it for a closer look. I keep looking and looking.

Finally I found it. The car was a black Chrysler Maserati convertible and I bought it. I was thrilled. Then one day I was driving my new car and I realized that something was missing from my life. I had my car, but my dream was gone. The quest for a dream car brought me lots of joy. Now it was over.

It’s often more valuable to have something special to go for than it is to realize it. Go for your dreams, but after they come true, find something else to go for. It’s the anticipation of something special that makes life exciting.

Here is another example on a smaller scale. My brother, sister, and I are very close, so I always have a trip scheduled to visit them. Knowing that I will see them brings me joy.

What can you go for?

Do you have something special to go for? If you don’t, find something. Find it as fast as you can.

What is possible for your life? What is your passion? What can you get excited about? If you don’t see anything, start looking. Do some daydreaming. The process of looking is usually more valuable than a quick answer.

One way to find possibility is to describe your ideal life. How do you want your life to be? What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to have? What do you want to do? Then write down what you see. Describe your ideal life in detail. Let the words flow and be as specific and possible.

Look for what you want in the following categories: (1) Relationships, (2) Prosperity & finance, (3) Job & career, (4) Health and fitness, (5) Your environment, (6) Fun, and (7) Spirituality & personal growth.

While you are writing, notice the areas that get your attention. What possibility makes you smile. What do you want to go for? If you don’t find anything, keep looking.

Once you get clear on what you want, the next step is to take action. Even if you are just taking small steps, that’s okay. Keep taking them. Small steps can make a big difference. When you know that you are moving forward, you feel better about yourself and better about your life.
