What it means to live in the light

There was a day a while back when I was grumpy and life wasn’t much fun. I was discouraged and negative. Then I went to lunch and saw an old friend. We hugged each other and I experienced a powerful burst of love. All of a sudden, life was wonderful again. I was happy, alive, and very positive. Life was a joy and opportunity was everywhere.

Nothing changed in the realm of circumstances, but everything changed in me. One moment I was in the darkness and in the next moment, I was in the light.

When you are in the light, the circumstances of your life have no power. You are on top of life. You feel good about yourself and the world around you. You also have a very positive attitude. You are positive in your thinking, your speaking, and your actions. You then radiate this positive energy into your life and great things happen around you. You are creative, resourceful, and can see what needs to be done. This is the realm of love, joy, peace, happiness, and miracles.

The opposite state is one of fear, upset, and suffering. When you are in this state, life is on top of you. You shut down inside. You lose your ability to see clearly and become very negative. You then radiate this negative energy into your life and negative things happen around you. When you are in this state, you are living in the darkness.

One moment you can be in the light and in the next moment, you can be in the realm of suffering. The state that you are in at any moment may seem to the result of your circumstances, but it isn’t. This is an illusion. Your inner state is not determined by what happens. It is determined by how you relate to what happens.

Let me explain. At any moment, your life is exactly the way that it is and this is true whether you like it or not. Everything can change tomorrow, but at any moment, what’s so is always what’s so. When you are at peace with the truth of the way your situation is, you can see the truth. When you can see the truth, you can see what needs to be done. Solutions appear and life takes care of itself.

Look at the areas of your life that work great. These are areas where you can flow with whatever happens. Now look at the areas of your life that don’t work. These are areas where you can’t flow. Any relationship and any area of your life that isn’t working is an area where you are fighting the truth of something.

When you fight the truth, there is no focus on solutions. All the focus is on resisting. Instead of resolving the problem, you magnify it. Instead of making decisions and taking action based on facts, your decisions and actions are based on emotion. If you could let go of the resisting, you would restore your ability to see clearly. Solutions would appear and this area of life would start clearing up.

To see an example of this, find a time in your life when you were actively resisting something. Then, for whatever reason, you let go of the resisting and said, “The heck with it.” You stopped fighting your situation and moved on with your life.

Notice what happened the moment you did this. Instantly, the fear and upset disappeared. You restored your ability to see clearly and saw everything differently. Instead of having 3 degrees of possibility, you suddenly had 360 degrees. Now notice what happened to the area of life that you were resisting. It started clearing up. Life always takes care of itself when we get our egos out of the way.

The opportunity of life is to learn to live in the light. When you are in this state, life works. Relationships heal. Problem areas get resolved and you can create a life more wonderful than you can imagine, but this won’t happen by itself. There are concepts to learn, issues to heal, and action to take.

Fortunately, there is a step-by-step process you can take to transform your life. I can walk you through the steps. If you are in Houston, you can attend our programs.
